Garena announced its Garena Professional League (GPL) in the month of May 2012, which is a six-month professional gaming league that includes more than 100 matches online. The first season of GPL is the first online League of Legends tournament with six professional teams. They are comprised of the best players in their countries. GPL games are filmed and broadcast live on-line with commentary. The games are available for viewers to view on the GPL's official site. Garena Premier League 2013 includes two new teams from Taiwan and Vietnam and Vietnam, which bring the number of teams to eight. The teams are AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Saigon Jokers, Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. Garena's eSports stadium is a stadium that is dedicated to esports within the Neihu District Taipei, opened on the 14th of November, 2014. The first studio was opened in the month of November 2014 in time for the launch of the League of Legends Masters Series. It's the top LoL Taiwanese in Hong Kong, Taiwanese, as well as the Macau LoL League which has been spun out of the GPL. Garena launched this league Iron Solari League - a League of Legends competition for women living in the Philippines beginning in January 2015. This is a regular event which is played in the second part of every month. It's goal is to boost participation of groups with low representation and is open to all individuals who self-identify as being female.
